The week of September 21-27 turned into a heavyweight bout between the two greatest guards to every play the game of basketball, and when the dust settled, Kobe Bryant claimed five of our top ten sales to Jordan’s four. Jordan still took the top spot, with a 2011-12 Upper Deck Master Collection box set, packed with three on-card autographs, hammering at $21,414.51 to lead the week by a mile, and two PSA 6 copies of the 1986-87 Fleer rookie plus a PSA 9 Fleer Sticker followed close behind. But Kobe’s depth was the story. A 2016-17 Limited Jersey Signatures Gold Spotlight #3/5, a pop 1 with none higher, pushed nearly $10K, and four Kobe autos stacked up behind it. the lone outsider was a 1951 Willie Mays Bowman rookie PSA 3 that cleared $11K and proved the Say Hey Kid still belongs in any conversation about the hobby’s most important cards.
